Al Norte

The stars are allies for migrants in the USMX borderlands. Celestial navigation is ancient knowledge that encourages us to find connections between ourselves, the Earth, and the sky. We come into a vision that expands how we relate to and coexist with the environment. “al norte” is meant to function as a guide for navigating the earth with the assistance of the stars. When one looks up they seek out a vision beyond the self, and “al norte” is a tool to locate and navigate the self towards a future of their own design.
The star map has the North Star (Polaris) at the center with the different positions of the Osa Mayor and Osa Menor during the different seasons of the year. The map shows how to locate the North Star using the constellations, and there is additional writing to explain what the image displays.
