Verdolagas / Portulaca
This small plant with drooping bright green stems that often take on a reddish tint, has thick round leaves with small yellow flowers with five 6mm wide petals. By eating all parts of this plant raw you can enjoy its salty taste. It is a great source of electrolytes and Omega-3 fatty acids. The plant has a common appearance, so you have to make sure that breaking the branches does not have milky slime. In general it is advisable to avoid most plants that have a milky slime if you don’t know what it is.
